Coming up with blog content or online content for a website can be hard.

This webinar discusses ways that we, as bloggers and online website owners can come up with content for our websites.

The video is from Hall Internet Marketing and is named, Coming Up With New Content - Blogs, Whitepapers, Social Media.

I changed it after doing a little research on the keywords, so please excuse me if I repeat the word content and online content too much. This is sort of an experiment to see if I can rank for the words blog content :-). Thanks for being forgiving.

What will your blog content do for you?

It's no secret that search engines love content. Especially new and original content.

Content is King
The good thing about it is that as you come up with more blog content or online content for your website the more Google is going to crawl your site and the more chances you have of ranking on the first page of the search results.

Another benefit of having great content on your blog is that other people will link to your blog giving you a higher likability factor with Google as it tends to use link popularity as a guide in determining which websites to present in search results.

The long and short of it is that the more people that link to your website the more 'link juice' you get with Google.

People love content. Especially informational online content.

Web surfers are always in search of information. They will search for product reviews and updates before making a purchasing decision.

The content on your website does several things for your visitors:

  • Let's them know who you are
  • Let's them trust you
  • Let's them link to you and buy your products

Content Syndication
I've been reading a lot about the sales funnel and the more I read the more I understand that the sales process starts with your online content :-).

More than a few Internet marketers will tell you that it's a good idea to give your website visitors your best content first.

In other words, put your best foot forward and by doing that people will see what an awesome resource you can be for them.

Where is all this blog content going to come from?

Amanda will do a better job of explaining that I can. She suggests that we first should answer the following questions:

  • Who is the content for?
  • Who is responsible to create it?
  • What are we trying to put together?
