Email Marketing - Three Tips for Gaining Excellent Click-Through Rates

Lisa Keller of The Loud Few liked what she saw in the "Q4 2010 North America Email Trend and Benchmark Results" from EEC and Epsilon. "Our average Click Through Rate (32.01%) and average Open Rate (40.99%) for our monthly tLF newsletters were far beyond the Business Products and Services General industry average Open Rate (21.9%) and Click Through Rate (3.8%)," she writes at her agency's blog.

So how does The Loud Few achieve its exceptional rates? According to Keller, it's with traits like these:

Its newsletters contain exclusive content. If blog visitors, Twitter followers, Facebook fans and email subscribers all get the same information, a customer has little incentive to interact with you in every channel.

"So," Keller says, "we made it a point to include exclusive content in our email newsletters that only our email subscribers receive."

How To Use Clickbank To Make Money Online - Internet Marketing

Affiliate Marketing

Making money through affiliate marketing is one of the most rewarding careers one could ever have. What’s good about this business is that anyone can join and make their way to success.

Affiliate marketing has been known to be a cost-efficient, assessable method of conveying long-term results.

In fact, you can start even with a shoe string budget. And with affiliate marketing, you can have the benefit of working from home and enjoying the freedom and flexibility of working for yourself.

But there are also some people who faile in this kind of business. It could be because they lack knowledge and tactics.

If you are a web site owner and you want to join an affiliate marketing business, you should know where to get good affiliate programs.

Clickbank Affiliate Network

Clickbank is an ideal place to start. Here, you can find one of the largest affiliate marketing programs in the industry.

You just need to visit their site, Clickbank and secure a clickbank ID. From the Clickbank’s home page, proceed to Sell Products page and look for the products and services that perfectly fit you and your site.

These products are typically ranked according to their popularity.

Clickbank is one of the affiliate networks that serve as a 3rd party between the web merchants and the associated affiliates.

It is responsible in providing the technology to deliver the merchant’s offers and campaigns. The affiliate network also does the job of collecting commission fees from the merchant and giving it to the affiliates involved in the program.

100,000 Professional Affiliates

Clickbank provides you a large and increasing network of publishers or affiliates to tap into.

To be more specific, clickbank has more than 100,000 affiliates who are experts in finding potential customers for your affiliate program.

The reason why more and more affiliates are joining Clickbank is obvious – the process of gaining commissions in this network is absolutely fair and transparent.

Web Masters & Clickbank

For web masters, joining Clickbank is easy. You just need to sign up in their site and allow them to sell your products.

Keep up a promotional web site that gives your potential customers detailed information about your offered product or services.

At your website, you must also maintain a comprehensive technical support pages for your product.

In return, Clickbank will promote and sell your product, give customer service for your product, allow their affiliates to pass on traffic to your web site, enable you to encourage new affiliates to advertise your web site, furnish real-time sales reporting for you and the affiliates and send you and all affiliates a paycheck.

First Time Affiliates

If you’re a Clickbank affiliate wannabe, you surely won’t find it hard to be a part of this network. First, if you don’t have a Clickbank account, you need to complete the Clickbank affiliate form and create your own account.

Then, if you already have a Clickbank username, you are free to choose whatever marketing tools you want to use bring in more clicks and generate more sales.

After selecting marketing tools, you can now get your affiliate links.

That’s how simple it is to join Clickbank. But being a Clickbank super affiliate is no minor achievement.

It means you need to possess the ability to sell lots of affiliate products.

You also need to have expertise in search engine optimization, email marketing, newsletter marketing, reciprocal linkage, link exchanges and other methods of promoting your merchant’s goods and services.

Among the secrets to become successful in affiliate marketing is to come up with good content based website and put your affiliate links in all your content.

Your main purpose here is to give your visitors good quality content about the things they are interested in. Set aside the job of selling. It must be done by the sales letter page you are transferring them to.

What To Promote

Promote multiple affiliate programs in your website but don’t promote everything the world has to offer. Just choose the affiliate programs that fit your site and focus on those programs.

Then, it is advisable to automate the whole process, giving you more time for other ventures. Yes, you’ve read it right!

Automation is another key to become a super affiliate.

Of course, you have to spend more time in reading, learning and taking up the changes in affiliate marketing business. Through this, you’ll remain on top of the trends.

If you are knowledgeable with online marketing, you’ll understand how important it is to stay up-to-date. In this kind of business, what worked and what was accepted few months ago may not work at present.

So always see to it that you know what’s new in affiliate marketing everyday.

It’s really hard to be a Clickbank super affiliate, but you shouldn’t say NO to the thought of giving up. Bear in mind that in the affiliate marketing business, you need to develop persistence, patience and knowledge.

These traits will teach you to carry on no matter how tough the job is. Also, check your statistics.

This will help you find out what is working and what is not. Make necessary changes if needed but do it one at a time and be patient.

Be Patient

Don’t forget that in affiliate marketing, everything won’t take place overnight. And it will not happen without blood, sweat and hefty time commitment.

Again, just encompass patience, persistence and knowledge; then do the above mentioned tactics. Before you realize it, you will start gaining profits. Believe me, the fruits of all your efforts here in affiliate marketing will be way too sweet.

How To Properly Optimize Your Blog For Major Search Engines

Blogging For Leads

Numerous clients ask me how to drive more traffic to their blogs. By now you have perhaps heard that blogs are an exceptional source to grow leads as well as customers for your business.

The best way to do that is by generating search engine welcoming blog posts that get indexed in search engines.

When people search for information on issues you talk about in your blog it appears on the search engine result pages.

Likely shoppers then are able to read what you have to say and get on your list.

So now it all boils down to methods that help you successfully optimize your blog for search engines. Here are tips and ideas to do just that:

Create A Keyword Rich Header For Your Blog

The header repeats on all pages on the blog. By making sure that your header contains targeted keywords, you are able to get more of your blog pages indexed in search engines.

Treat Each Blog Post As A Separate, Optimizable Page

Use the process of search engine optimization on each blog post.

This means that you need to create an optimized title for each post, find targeted keywords for each post and weave the keywords into your post’s text.

Make Sure That Each Blog Post’s File Name Are Descriptive

Different blogging software behaves differently, but some will call your blog posts 2.html, 3.html, 4.html, etc.

As you can see, that is not very descriptive and not particularly helpful to either people or search engines. When you create a post called "How Coaching Helps Business Owners", calling it "how-coaching-helps-business-owners.html" is a much better title than "5.html"

Make sure that your blogging software creates descriptive file names for your blog posts; it is better both for human readers and search engine spiders.

Get Links Pointing To Your Blog

Quality links to your blog means more blog visitors and higher search engine rankings.

Current search engine algorithms value links to your blog, which means that having links pointing to your blog will improve your blog’s search engine rankings.

Get Your Blog Listed in Blog Directories

Blog directories are a great source of getting one way links to your blog.

Since blog directory links many times are one way (they link to you, but you don’t link back to them), they are great for boosting your search engine rankings.

Having many one way links pointing to your web site will improve your search engine rankings.

Conclusion

A blog is an excellent marketing tool, but your blog will not attract more leads and clients for your business if you don’t use search engine optimization techniques to optimize your blog and attract targeted search engine traffic to it.

Eye Tracking Study Reveals 12 Website Tactics To Increase Internet Marketing

Eye tracking study reveals 12 website tactics

Looking At Your Web Page

By Dean Rieck on Copywriting & Direct Marketing

While this is just one eye tracking study focused on a particular type of site, I think there are instructive nuggets here for any informational website.
In no particular order, here are 12 results I found particularly interesting.

1.Headlines draw eyes before pictures.

This might be surprising for some people since the trend has been to add photos and graphics specifically to draw the eye. Even I have been adding more photos to my blog to spice it up a bit.

But the participants in this study looked at headlines, especially in the upper left of the page, before they looked at photos when they landed on a page. So you can’t rely on eye candy to make up for poor headlines.

2. People scan the first couple words of a headline. Yes, long headlines can work. But this study suggests that people scan the first few words before deciding whether to continue reading.

This means you should front-load your headlines with the most interesting and provocative words. It’s also an argument for getting your keywords up front in headlines.

3. People scan the left side of a list of headlines. This is related to the previous point.

When presented with a list of headlines or links, people will scan down the left side, looking at the first couple words, to find something they’re interested in. They don’t necessarily read each line beginning to end.

The implication is the same as before. Get your most mind catching words up front.

4. Your headline must grab attention in less than 1 second. Online readers are grazers.

They move fast and nibble. If you want to hook them into spending time reading about something, you have to catch their attention very, very fast.

No nonsense. No meandering copy. No “throat clearing” to fill space. You have to get to the point instantly.

5. Smaller type promotes closer reading. This makes sense because smaller type is harder to read. So, to read it, you have to really focus. Larger type promotes scanning rather than reading.

Be careful with this one. No one is suggesting you shrink your web type to make it barely legible. I think the takeaway is to avoid making your type too big if you want close reading and avoid making it too small if you want to communicate rapidly.

6. Navigation at the top of the page works best. I find this interesting from a design point of view since many sites now use side navigation. I take this one with grain of salt, since the study also shows that side navigation can work fine.

The point may be that anything at the top of a page will be seen immediately. And since top navigation must be simple because of space limits, top navigation is probably much simpler to use.

7. Short paragraphs encourage reading. No surprise here. Even in print this is true. Big blocks of type look imposing and difficult, like reading a Faulkner novel where a paragraph goes on seemingly forever.

In online writing as in most ad writing, you have to forget normal paragraph development. Breaks should be logical, but they’re organized into a flow of ideas rather than distinct paragraphs.

8. Introductory paragraphs enjoy high readership. Just to be clear, an intro paragraph is a content summary that appears after the headline and before the main text. It’s common in some news writing. I’ve also used it in print ads which are designed in the form of an article, often called an “advertorial.”

The downside is that while intros get read, this study says they don’t affect readership of the main text. Maybe they help improve comprehension. The study doesn’t say.

9. Ad placement in the top and left positions works best. For anyone familiar with “heat maps,” this make sense. The eye tends to start in the upper left of a page. So an ad, or anything else, in that area will be noticed.

This is another one you have to be wary of. Ad blindness tends to happen when people get used to seeing ads in a particular place. So even the prime upper left area won’t work so well if you always put ads there.

10. People notice ads placed close to popular content. Obviously. This mimics the well-known idea in the offline world where ads are placed anywhere eyeballs point.

This is why ads right over a urinal work. Men look straight ahead, usually at a blank wall 12 inches from their face when standing at a urinal, so any reading material there will get read.

11. People read text ads more than graphic ads. Not everyone will agree with this one. But it makes sense if you consider that information is usually in the form of text. So people looking for information are looking for text, not pictures.

However, graphics can be useful for conveying information that is difficult to communicate in pure text, such as how something looks, mathematical information, before and after comparisons, etc. Which leads us to the last tactic.

12. Multimedia works better than text for unfamiliar or conceptual information. Reading relies on people having some understanding of the subject. The more familiar they are with the subject, the faster and easier reading is.

If you’re trying to describe a process, for example, a video or illustration conveys this information better than text.

Profiting With Affiliate Internet Marketing & Google AdSense

Affiliate Marketing Flow Chart

Profiting With Affiliate Internet Marketing & Google AdSense

Are you a web site owner who needs cash to keep your web site operational? Or do you want your web site to be your only source of income?

If you’re either of these and you need money affiliate marketing could work well for you. I’ll talk about Internet marketing with Good AdSense further down.

With affiliate marketing, you may get extra money into your bank account with a little bit of work. And if your web site or blog has good content, why not get into the Google AdSense program as well?

Affiliate Marketing Online

Affiliate marketing is the coolest and probably the best way to earn profits online because you don’t have to create your own products. It’s a real hassle trying to create eBook covers and graphics, not to mention sales pages.

With affiliate marketing all of the hard work is done for you.

And most affiliate products are well crafted, high quality products. But as always, make sure to conduct research before you commit to selling someone else’s product.

On the other hand, if you are a person who would rather sell your own products online than advertise other Internet marketer’s products on your web site prepare for a big learning curve. Learning to create quality products and eye catching graphics will be a night mare.

Trust me

Most of the big name Internet marketers such as Liz Tomey and Skip McGrath hire other people to create their products for them. The hire separate vendors for different parts of a product. For example, they have one company design the graphics such as headers and footers and they have a professional copy writer write their sales page.

Affiliate Marketing Analyzed

Affiliate marketing is a relationship or contract between two entrepreneurs. One person being the merchant and the other being the affiliate.

In the agreement, the affiliate agrees to let the merchant advertise her products on the affiliate’s web site or to a mailing list.

The merchant, on the other hand, would pay the affiliate in whatever method they have agreed into. Merchant payouts vary from person to person but I’ve noticed that the average is about 40-70 percent. The affiliate gets more money most of the time.

This means easy income for the affiliate because the only thing required is to place the retailer’s ad on his web site or send the product to a mailing list.

This would also be very beneficial for the merchant, as getting affiliates to advertise their products would be a lot more affordable than hiring an advertising firm to promote their products.

Affiliate Payment Methods

There are different methods on how the dealer would pay the affiliate for his services.

The more common methods of compensation are the:

  1. Pay per click
  2. Pay per lead
  3. Pay per sale

The pay per click method is the most preferred by affiliates because the web site’s visitor would only have to visit the advertiser’s web site for them to get paid. Google is probably the biggest PPC program on the market.

The other two methods are better preferred by merchants, as they would only have to compensate you if your visitor becomes one of their registrants or if the visitor actually buys their product

Generating a lot of profit on affiliate marketing programs, however, does not depend so much on the compensation method as it does on the traffic generated by your web site.

A web site that can attract more visitors would generally have the greater chance of profiting in affiliate marketing programs.

Marketing With Google AdSense

Google AdSense is actually some sort of an affiliate marketing program.

In Google AdSense, Google acts as the negotiator between the affiliates and the merchants. The merchant, or the promoter, would simply sign up with Google and provide the latter with text and banner ads pertaining to their goods.

These ads, which is actually a link to the advertiser’s web site, would then appear on Google searches as well as on the web sites owned by the affiliates, or by those web masters who have signed up with the Google AdSense package

While one can find a lot of parallels between Google AdSense and other partner marketing programs, you can also see a lot of differences.

With Google AdSense, all the web master has to do is place a code on his web site and Google takes care of the rest.

The ads that Google would place on your site would generally be related to the matter of your web site.

This would be valuable both for you and for the sponsor, as the visitors of your site would more or less be actually interested with the products being marketed.

The Google AdSense program pays the affiliate in a pay-per-click basis. The advertisers would pay Google a certain amount each time their ad on your site is clicked and Google then forwards this amount to you through checks after they deduct their fees.

There is a threshold on the payout. Google won’t pay until you have a certain amount in your account.

Google AdSense checks are typically delivered monthly. Also, the Google AdSense program provides web masters with a tracking tool they call Channels.

Channels allows you to monitor the earnings you receive from an ad.

Where Will Your Internet Marketing Efforts Lead?

Where else but to profits, profits and even more profits! Affiliate marketing programs and the Google AdSense program simply work, whether you are the merchant or the affiliate.

Merchants

For the merchant’s side, a lot of money can be saved if advertising effort is concentrated on affiliate marketing rather than on dealing with advertising firms.

Web Master - Publisher

For the webmaster, you can easily gain a lot of profits just by doing what you do best, and that is by creating web sites.

And if you combine all your profits from both the Google AdSense program and other affiliate marketing programs, it would surely convert to a large amount of cash.

How Important Is SEO For Internet Marketing Campaigns

SEO in Internet Marketing

Internet Marketing The Smart Way
If you are currently running an Internet marketing campaign or are about to launch a campaign, one concept you cannot neglect is search engine optimization, better known as SEO.

Sear engine optimization is the most talked about and written about buzz word in Internet marketing today.

Unfortunately, the great majority of bloggers and web site owners commonly do not know enough about how to prepare pages to make this strategy work for them.

I perform a lot of research and time after time I come across blogs that do not have their pages set-up correctly.

Even those who are acquainted with SEO may have a hard time executing their strategies to produce the desired outcome.

Online Advertising

Advertising is a key component of running any type of business. You must advertise to reach new customers and market your products or services.

You probably already understand how important it is to advertise but if you are running your business online you should be aware that there is a lot of free advertising in the form of optimal search engine rankings.

Search Engine Ranking

The most popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing rank websites according to complicated algorithms which are designed and constructed to determine which websites are relevant for appropriate search terms.

Accordingly, taking the time and putting in the effort to optimize your website for relevant search terms may result in you ranking high in search engines for these terms.

This is important because you want to rely on these rankings to bring in traffic to your web site.

Most people performing a search click on the first few links on the results page when they search for an exact term. They know what they want and they're in a rush to get it.

What this means for you is  when your website ranks high enough to appear on the first few lines or even on the first page of the search results, you will notice more web site traffic.

Converesly, if your web site doesn’t make it to the first page there is little chance that you will see traffic from visitors who use search engines.

How To Optimize Pages

Now that we talked about how search engine rankings are valuable, you might wonder how to accomplish these high rankings.

The quickest way to optimize your web site is to hire a professional SEO specialist to do the work.

However, if you're just starting out there are some things you can do to make your page rank high. I achieved first page ranking on Google with my article How To Start An Online Business Selling Used Cell Phones.

I will now talk about how I achieved that ranking. But before I do, I want you to perform a search on Google for the title of my article, or some variation. I rank fourth, right under Amazon.com if you insert the complete title.

If you search for a variation I'll still come up on the first page somewhere.

The way I got first page ranking is simple but hard. It's hard because it takes a lot of work, but simple because all we have to do is insert the following into our web page conent:

  • H1 and H2 tags
  • Pictures
  • Video
  • Key words in the text
  • News feeds
  • Wikipedia links

You've read this before. It's nothing new to you, but are you doing it?
Are you taking the time to really work on your pages or are you simply cutting and pasting text?

Here is an example of a page that is well optimized. Look at how she has links to other pages in the article. She has pictures and video as well.

Search Engine Terms

Is This Important?

Key Words

Keyword density refers to the number of times a particular keyword is used in the content of your web site.

The theory behind this concept is that web pages which are rich in keywords often are likely relevant to that keyword.

However, exaggerated use of that keyword may result in punishment to the web site if the search engine considers the keywords are not being used suitably.

META Tags

META tags are bits of HTML code which search engines use in assessing the content of a website.

Using keywords in these tags can be favorable in some search engines. Care should be taken to avoid placing irrelevant keywords in these tags as this may result in your website being penalized.

Inbound Links

Inbound links are also used by some search engines to rank websites. Inbound links refer to links on other websites which point to your website.

In evaluating the worth of these inbound links, search engines consider the rank of the website providing the link to your website.

This means you should ensure the website providing inbound links to your website are high ranking websites to receive the most benefit from these links.

Finally, the content on your website can do a great deal to bolster your search engine rankings.

How To Start An Online Business Selling Used Cell Phones

How To Start An Online Business Selling Used Cell Phones

Sell Phones Like This
Selling used cell phones online is a good way to begin making money extremely quickly. I began earning serious money buying and selling used sell phones within two months.

In this article I will talk about how to source used cell phones and where to sell them. I'll also tell you how to get free cell phones in order to start making money today. Yes, today!

Selling used cell phones is a very lucrative niche business. If you're serious and put in effort, you can have fun and earn a nice living in this niche. People buy used cell phone for different reasons.
  • For parts
  • As a second phone
  • For a child
  • To replace a lost/damaged phone
It doesn’t matter why people buy used cell phones. As long as they buy them. And people do buy used cell phones. I’ve had repeat customers and customer referrals but I’m getting ahead of myself.

I began selling used cell phones after reading an eBook a few years ago about the top 10 best products to sell on eBay. And I began making money right away.

I also began selling phones on Craigslist once I realized that people were really buying these things.

As with any business there is a learning curve. You’ll have to go through trial and error. You will make mistakes but don’t give up.

I made the mistake once of not testing a phone (more on that later) and the customer complained that the ringer didn’t work. I had to refund the money of course.

There are a couple of options for acquiring used cell phones to sell.

Researching The Value Of Cell Phones

You can research the value of a used cell phone very quickly. Usually in a few minutes. When you become proficient it will be a matter of seconds.

eBay is the best place to find the value of a phone or anything else.

You will need an eBay account (more on that later). And you’ll have to log in to your account to perform the search on the completed listings section.

The completed listings section displays auctions that have closed and it shows the final price of the auction. You will see exactly how much people paid for the phone you are researching.

Also research the value of the phone in ‘as is’ condition.

This is important because when you test the phone and find out it doesn’t work you may still be able to make money on it. People buy ‘as is’ cell phones for parts.

The profit margin is actually higher on ‘as is’ cell phones because you can buy them for $5 and easily make a good profit.

--------------------------------------------------------------
Tip:

If a seller doesn't have the charger for a phone do not buy it. There is a good chance that the phone is lost or stolen.

I learned the hard way! If the person has the charger and other accessories you can be sure that they are the owner and buy with confidence.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Sourcing Used Cell Phones

You can begin this business with absolutely no money. How?

These days everyone has 2 or 3 cell phones that they don't use. The phones are just sitting in a drawer.

Ask your family and friends to give you these cell phones. Be honest with your family.

Tell them that you're starting a business buying and selling used cell phones. Ask for their support by giving you the cell phones that they are not using.

Or, you can offer them a percentage of the sale once you sell the phone.

You’ll be surprised at how much money you can make this way because there is no initial investment. It’s pure profit.

Asking family members for phones is the easiest way to start this business because once you have the phone in your possession you can post it on Craigslist immediately and have a buyer within hours (provided the phone is selling good).

That’s how you can make money today.

Grab a cell phone from a family member and post it on Craigslist today. But first finish reading the article.

You can also stock up on phones to sell by buying them, which is what I do.

Simply place an ad on Craigslist similar to the one below. Place the ad in the ‘Items Wanted’ category.

You can also place an ad in your local paper once you begin making money.

--------------------------------------------------------------
Need Money? I Buy Used Cell Phones [this is your headline]

[this is the body of your ad]

I will give you cash today for your used cell phones. All makes and models needed.

When you contact me please be sure to include the make, model number and carrier so that I can research the value of the phone and make an offer.
--------------------------------------------------------------

I've been very successful with this ad.

When you place this ad you will receive responses almost right away. People will send you emails telling you what kind of phone they want to sell.

For example, you may get an email from someone that’s selling a Cricket Ascend Android Cell Phone.

When you receive an email from someone wanting to sell a phone do not reply to them right away. First research the value of the phone.

 Contacting The Seller

After you performed the research and know what a phone is selling for contact the seller.  If, for example, a phone is selling on eBay for $80 offer the seller $40 or less.

You’ll want to at least double your money or triple it.  I once bought a $400 Nokia smartphone for $100 and sold it for $220 the next day.

A note of caution.  Some sellers will reject your offer because they know the value of the phone.

Simply tell them that you buy to resell and that you cannot offer any more money.  Most people will then accept your offer.

Do not spend too much time with people that won’t budge on the price or you’ll find yourself answering emails all day.  You don’t want to work that hard!

When you and the seller agree on a price it’s time to meet the seller and test the phone and view its condition.

Have the seller come to you.  This way you are not wasting time traveling.

Usell.com Buys Used Cell Phones

Testing The Phone

This part is crucial. Make sure that everything on the phone works. Here is a check-list to guide you:

Check:
  • Ringer
  • Display
  • Condition (phones with normal wear and tear sell well)
  • Turn on/off
  • Place a call
If the phone does not have service you can call 911 to test the phone for outgoing calls.

Most cell phones allow 911 calls even though there is no service on the phone. For phones with SIM cards place a SIM card in the phone and test for outgoing calls.

The seller should have a SIM card if you don’t have one.
After testing the phone and provided everything works well buy the phone to resell.

You’re ready to make money!

Selling The Phone

There are several ways to sell a used cell phone online but I’m going to talk about two, eBay and Craigslist. I’ve tried the other auction sites and classifieds websites and they don’t perform as well as eBay and Craigslist.

Let’s begin with Craigslist because it is free and you can set-up an account in minutes.

If you don’t have a Craigslist account it is easy to sign-up for one. Go to Craigslist.com and click on open an account.

When you complete the sign-up process they will send a confirmation email to the email address you provided. The email will arrive in minutes.

Click on the link in the email that says confirm account registration. When your account is registered you are ready to post a phone for sale.

Sign in to your account and click on create a new post.

In the posting title enter the phone you are selling. For example, if you’re selling a Cricket Ascend Android Cell Phone you should enter:

Used Cricket Ascend Android Cell Phone

(it’s important to use the word ‘used’ because that’s how people will search.)

In the price box enter the price you’re selling the phone for. If you live in a major city you can list your location by neighborhood. I usually just enter the city as the specific location. This way more people will see the ad.

Writing the description of the phone:

Try to be as accurate as possible when you describe the phone. For example, if the phone has a few minor scratches mention that in the description.

You can also describe the phone as ‘fair’, ‘good’, ‘normal’, and ‘mint’ condition.  Include pictures.

People will want to see what they’re buying and you’ll receive more offers if you include good pictures. Make sure the pictures are in focus and have plenty of light.

When you’re done with the description click on post new ad and your ad will go live on Craigslist in about 15 minutes. If the phone is a hot seller you’ll begin receiving responses right away.

Using eBay To Make Money Online

eBay’s system is a little harder and it takes a little longer to set up an eBay account.  If you don’t have an eBay account register for one.  You cannot begin selling on eBay right away.  eBay requires that you have at least a positive feedback score of 10 before you can sell.

You can read about that when you sign-up for an eBay account.

When you post a phone on eBay you’ll want to follow the same steps as on Craigslist.  Enter the post heading and price, pictures and description.

End your auctions on Sunday nights.  That’s when most people are online and sometimes bidding wars escalate and you’ll receive a very good price for your phone.

How To Attract Fans To Facebook Fan Page Internet Marketing Article

Facebook Fan Club

Attracting Fans To Your Facebook Fan Page

This article was first published on Birds On The Blog

It’s all very well having a Facebook Fan Page, but if you only have about 6 fans, 2 of whom are your mum and your old headmaster, what’s the point?

Attracting fans to a Fan Page is an ongoing thing, so here are some ideas that may help you – feel free to post your own ideas in the comments!

Suggest To Friends

1) Invite your contacts by clicking on the ‘suggest to friends’ link at the top left of your Facebook fan page. This allows you to choose which friends to send an invitation to. Once you’ve invited someone, their name is greyed out, so you can’t invite them to often.

Profile Page

2) Post details of the Fan page to our profile page by clicking on the ‘Share’ button, which is way down on the left, and easily missed. This posts a little ad for your page on your personal profile.

Facebook Fan Box

3) Put a Facebook fan box on your website / blog. By going to http://www.facebook.com/facebook-widgets/fanbox.php you can create a fan box that allows people to see your Facebook stream and become a fan right from your website.

Page Badges

4) Add a Page Badge at http://www.facebook.com/facebook-widgets/pagebadges.php. A Page Badge allows you to share your Facebook fan page info on other websites and forums.

Facebook And Twitter

5) Connect to Twitter. By visiting http://www.facebook.com/twitter/ you can hook up your Facebook page with your Twitter account. While I don’t think this is great for EVERYTHING you post to your Facebook page, it is good for directing your Twitter followers to your Fan Page, which in turn encourages them to become fans.

Twitter Followers

6) Leading on from this, why not just invite your Twitter followers to become fans? A simple post once a week or so (at different times to reach followers who may not have seen it) works wonders.

Quality Updates

7) Post updates that your fans will want to share. Every time a fan shares a post from your Fan Page, a link to your Fan Page is included in their news stream and broadcast to all of their friends.

The more interesting things you post, the more likely your friends are to share your content.

8) ASK! Ask your current fans to recommend your page to 5 of their friends – many of them will, and it’s amazing how quickly the fans can grow.

Regular Posting

9) Post regularly. If you rarely post or comment on your Fan page, then people coming to view it won’t be tempted to join. Be sure to post something every day.

Avoid Self-Promotion

10) Don’t just self promote. No-one wants to be a fan of a page that just shoves their self promotion down your throat (unless the page is specifically for that purpose and it’s made clear from the beginning). Not sure what to post on your Facebook fan page? See our blog on this here: What should I post on my Facebook Fan Page?

Involve Your Fans

11) Encourage your fans to post on your page. People like to be involved – allow them to post on your page and you’ll encourage loyalty and more. You can choose to have fan posts shown in the main Wall stream, or keep them separate – I prefer to keep them all together at it gives a better overall idea of the page.

Interact With Fans

12) Respond to fans. There’s nothing worse than seeing Fan Pages where fans have commented and been ignored. Try and make a habit of checking your Fan Page at least twice a day to respond to comments. Don’t ignore the people you’re trying to attract!

Use Tags Smartly

13) Tag fans where relevant. If you post a photograph, video or note, and it’s relevant (the key word here is relevant – don’t just tag everyone for the hell of it), then tag them so they are alerted. Many people who are tagged in things will come and comment, or share with their friends.

eMail Signature

14) Add your Facebook Fan Page address to your email signature. How many emails do you send out a day to customers and potential clients? Encourage them to become fans!

Newsletter Subscribers

15) Talk about it in your newsletter. Encourage your newsletter subscribers to become fans in order to receive more up to date information.

Special Offers For Fans Only

16) Offer price cuts and special offers via your Fan Page – make sure that people know they have to become fans to make the most of this.

Free Is Expected

17) Have a giveaway. Be careful not to break Facebook competition rules, but a giveaway for people commenting on your fan page can encourage fans to comment, share and suggest your page to their friends.

Ask Fans To Join

18) Join my new Facebook fan page – Here’s My Fanpage – a place for people with Fan Pages to promote their pages. Simply post the address and a short description of what fans can expect. Of course, to post on this page you need to become a fan, but we’re hoping it will turn into a great resource for promotion and finding of Fan Pages to follow.

Blog Comment Box

19) When you comment on blogs, leave your Facebook Fan Page address instead of your website address. If you comment on lots of blogs you could alternate the two.

Web Address URL

20) Put your Facebook Fan Page address on all your printed material – this works best if you have over 25 fans and have a vanity URL.

Running Ads On Facebook

21) Use Facebook ads to advertise your page. It doesn’t have to cost the earth, and you can test it out with a relatively small amount of money. (Drop me a line if you’d like to know more about this)

Download Now

Free Downloads

22) Create exclusive content. Have a download that only fans of your page can download. Be sure to mention it everywhere!

Using The Press

23) Add your Facebook Fan Page address to the end of your press releases.

Google Ads

24) Use Google Ads to drive people to your Facebook fan page.

Radio & Television

25) Mention your Facebook fan page in any radio or TV interviews.

Interviews

26) Make sure it’s quoted in any online or offline written interviews too!

Suppliers

27) Use your Fan Page to source suppliers – if people know you’re going to ask on your Fan Page for supplier recommendations, they’re more likely to become a fan.

So there you are, 27 ways to get fans to your page – how many have you tried?

Have you tried anything else that worked well? Why not post details of your Fan Page below and see if you can grab a few more fans?  And of course, here’s the link for the NikkiPilkington.com Facebook Fan Page

Adsense Alternatives For Internet Marketing

Targeted Internet Marketing

AdSense Alternatives

Many people use Google's AdSense program to make make money online. But, as with everything else in business there are a few people who do not or cannot use AdSense.

Gratefully, there are several possible choices to AdSense to help make you cash from your blog or web site.

Here is a list of the best money making ones that publishers can use to increase online income.

Bidvertiser

Bidvertiser exhibits text ads on your page.

The difference between AdSense and Bidvertiser lies in the fact that advertisers bid over your advertising space; helping you earn as much money as you possibly can.

What this means for you is that bids will increase over time allowing you to earn you even more cash as you progressively increase traffic.

Customizing your ads is very easy.

From their web site:

1. Browse our categorized directory of websites
2. Select the appropriate ones for your business
3. Set your desired geographic market targeting
4. Set your pay per click bids
5. Your ads are up and running!

Advertising.com

Advertising.com achieves the goal of relevancy by placing a filter according to your site's categories.

It also allows you to view online reports of your blog's status with the possibility to add your own customized ads.  This is beneficial because you can change ads that aren't producing income.

As with AdSense their setup is simple and similar in fashion to AdSense's and customizable.

Internet Marketing Connections

Vibrant Media IntelliTXT

Vibrant Media IntelliTXT offers user-activated ads. These are the ads that highlight certain words within the the page and present relevant ads when a user positions her mouse over them.

It uses a pay-for-performance pricing schedule and can be used along with other online advertising methods.

It allows you full control with easily integrated JavaScript that can be cut and pasted on your blog.

Nixie

According to their web site Nixie indicates that it created a technology that can read and understand your site which enables it to display the most relevant content.

Nixie also has price comparison listings as well as live auction advertising. It's easy to get started and has a good payment policy as well.

MIVA AdRevenue Xpress

MIVA AdRevenue Xpress looks for small and midsized publishers.

It implements Search Box functionality and also features things like a Category Directory as well as the handling of 404 error pages.

It can be easily integrated on your web site using a user friendly online wizard.

Fastclick (bought by ValueClick Media)

ValueClick Media offers you 65 percent of what it makes from a click on your web site.

Payments are made on a monthly basis. They use PayPal or send checks in the mail.

The ads can be formatted as you wish. They even offer a free support service for its publishers and no fees are required to register with the service.

ContextWeb is an Alternative to AdSense

ContextWeb ContextAd

ContextAd offers the possibility of contextual ads for dynamic pages, meaning ads will change as soon as your content changes.

It's easy to use and free to sing up for. The ads are customizable and real-time reports are available 24/7.

As you can see there are many offers and opportunities to make money marketing online. Especially with key word rich articles.

Also, a lot of these services can work together along side AdSense to earn you a greater amount of revenue for your blog's ad space.

Internet Marketing That Can Make Your Blog Useless Video

Optimize Internet Marketing Efforts

Internet Marketing Mistakes

Too often bloggers complain that after a great start, a year later their blog isn't receiving the kind of traffic they want.

This is an ordinary problem that sometimes revolves around a small list of normal mistakes made by the owner of the blog.

You can sit back and hope that the blog will do all of the work for you but that is a terrible way to approach your Internet marketing efforts.

A successful blogger/web site owner will tell you that a great looking blog takes a lot of dedication and sustained effort to make it work.

You must put in research time in order to maintain a blog, especially after the first few weeks or so of completing the design.

Many people work extremely hard during the primary design period that they become lazy after it is complete because they don't see results right away. To avoid this happening to you look at some common Internet marketing and blogging mistakes.

Infrequent Updates

The first mistake people make is not posting or updating the site frequently.

Successful blogs create new content daily. Even if it is a shared post (I do that a couple of times a week.)  If you're on blogger it's easy to share a post.  Just click on the share button and the article will be placed on your blog.

You can then add a little content by cutting and pasting parts of the original article.

Some of the bigger blogs are constantly being updated with several posts daily. You should create new articles as often as possible. Preferably once a day.

If you skip a day a few times a month, it won't be a problem. However, if you miss more than a week without posting, your blog may be dead already.

You have to take a some time to research and read up on your topic so that you can get ideas. PLR articles are great for content too. I use them all the time.

Just change the wording a little bit on a PLR article and you have a blog post! This shouldn't be that challenging.

It is easy to keep your blog updated, if you make it a priority.

Over Doing The Advertising

Web site owners and bloggers want to make a profit. That's why you got into it. Right?

Marketing Correctly
This can get out of check quickly. If you are want to include ads to your blog, do carefully.

A few correctly placed ads that offer viewers links to content that is relevant is welcomed most of the time.

Don't add a massive amount of AdSense or affiliate links on your blog. That can be a problem.

If you have a bunch of flashy ads on your blog, your content will get lost within the hoopla.

Try to limit your ads to 3 or less per page. Or be consistent with your ads. If you look at this blog you'll see that I have 3 ads running. AdSense, Amazon and Clickbank.

Place your ads in places that compliment your site. Some bloggers also have contrasting ads that really stand out, but look good on the web page.

Let your content be the first thing a visitor sees.  Use h1 and h2 tags for headings instead of just using the bold feature.  Be intelligent when including advertising on your blog!

Research other web sites and blogs to view how they have their ads and articles set up.  Did I mention research?

Amateurish Appearance

Looks do matter when it comes to your blog.

You will be taken seriously if your site looks clean and professional. Make your pages crisp and clean with easy navigation.  If you want to boost traffic and keep the visitors you have, try a more serious page layout or appearance for your blog.

Many serious bloggers hire professionals.

If you want to do it yourself however, you must make sure the end product is good. Learn basic HTML if you don't know it already. It's not that hard to learn and you'll have more control over your pages.

If you have a sloppy blog that looks “homemade” you will not likely have a great response. Try different layouts and approaches to see what gets you the most traffic.

I spent a few hours today changing the design of  this blog and I received more followers today than I did all week.  It pays to test.

Too Many Graphics

Pictures will add an eye catching element to your blog and draw in more readers. However, when done extravagantly, pictures will drive people away.

The primary reason that too many pictures can ruin a blog is because there are a lot of people who still use dial up connections. Especially people in rural areas.

When these people click on your link to load your page, it will take an excessively long time to do so.

This in turn will drive them and anyone else with this problem away. Try limiting your pages to a few pictures per page.

Irrelevant Content & Ads

The Internet is a place where everyone can freely express themselves. But if you want your blog to survive you should think about that freedom of expression.

You should always say what you feel, especially on your own turf but you can do so in appropriate manners on your blog.

There are ways to say express what's on your mind without using profanity or any offensive language. I was using StumbleUpon earlier and came across a web site where the first thing I read was 'what the fuck'.

I quickly pressed the back button.

If you want your blog to be successful, you cannot be inappropriate with your content. You'll offend a lot of people and they'll hit the back button.

Earlier I mentioned PLR content.  If you need PLR content shoot me an email at ramiro623@yahoo.com and I'll send you some.

How To Use Blogging To Boost Your Business With Internet Marketing

Building Your Business

Building your business can be a difficult task. You can put hundreds of hours of effort into the business, but if you still don’t have important components, you will not be successful.

Today business owners are realizing that blogging boosts business. Blogs are typically only seen as personal places to express yourself and your views.

The truth is however the blogs are also great places to reach people about your business or your products.

There are several ways to do this type of blogging.  The best way a business can use blogging to boost their business is by taking part in the blogs of others.

Best Practices For Social Media Marketing Video

You can easily create quality posts with your business in mind without needing to set up a blog of your own.

Try finding blogs that pertain to the area of business you are in. This will help you get started. With millions of blogs out there, you should be able to find some with no problem.

Choose to post on all of them, or choose the few that get the most activity. Then begin posting.

When you do, you will see positive results come in. If you are still curious about how this can boost your business, check out these three reasons blogging boosts business.

Quick Name Recognition

The fastest way to get your business’s name out in the public is to make it known to your targeted marketing group. If you want to get your company’s name out to men who like fishing, then you can find a blog that is about just that.

When you find the blogs pertaining to this marketing group, post useful and intelligent information about topics that pertain to your company.

You might not want to sound like an advertisement. Think about responding to another comment and simply tagging your signature with your company’s website.

This is a subtle way to get their attention. The more you post on blogs, the more widely known your company’s name will become with the select marketing group.

When they tell their friends and family about the site then your consumer group will have grown even more. This is a fast way to get started. You will have to invest some time however. At least an hour a day can be used for this type of task.

Consumer Testimonies

Your company might even think about hiring professionals to blog for your company. You can offer these employees products to try and give them the task of finding blogs where they can appropriately "praise" the product.

By paying these people to do the task, you will be getting the work done that you need without having to devote much time. Consumer testimonials go a long way with other consumers. If these bloggers are productive enough, you will see an increase due to it.

Building Relationships Through Blogging

Smart business owners know that they can go further with the help of others. A great way to connect and build relationships with other businesses is via their blog.

If you are a regular poster who values their business, they will be more likely to work with you.

Working together with advertising is a great idea. You can swap ad space for free if you like. These are great things for business owners and are easy to get into when you blog regularly.

As you can see, blogging can be a great way to do business. It may seem like tricky advertising, and it is in some ways.

However, it is free advertising that does the same thing as a commercial on television does. It reaches a targeted marketing group and lets them know your company’s name, products, and sometimes offers an endorsement.

Overall, it is an effective way to get your business out there. When people have no idea who you are, they are not going to feel comfortable working with you.

The better your reputation is, the more likely they will trust you. When you have no reputation at all, they will not trust you either. So, even if you just want to use blogging to build your company’s reputation, it will be worth your while.

Give it a try and see what type of results you can get using these tips.
