Facebook SEO Tips | Getting More Likes On Your Posts

Facebook SEO Tips | Getting More Likes On Your Posts

Facebook and Google
This Facebook SEO Tips article was published by Mequoda.com and it's one really sneaky little SEO trick that's going to give you a big boost on Facebook and Google.

Somewhere in the middle of this article there is a link where you can sign up to receive a free SEO Campaign Management Basics white paper.

Boost the rank of your articles with this Facebook SEO hack

You know those small, hidden gem restaurants that you don’t even want to tell people about because you don’t want people crowding up your restaurant?

Well the tip I’m about to get into is like one of those restaurants.

In fact, I’ve already been burned once, because a few years ago, we wrote an amazingly SEO’d landing page that was bringing in thousands of visitors every month all on its own and building our email lists like crazy.

In usual Mequoda fashion, we couldn’t keep our mouths shut and went ahead and started blogging about our incredible success.

Surprise, surprise, every online marketer on the planet started stealing our niche and flourishing keyword.

Where there was once a sweet spot, now the competition on that keyword is fierce. Drats. It’s OK though, we’re tough.

Increase Your Facebook Likes
To continue the trend of giving away our best secrets, I’ll begrudgingly go ahead and lay out my favorite Facebook SEO hack to date.

It’s common-sense and simple, but very, very effective.

Facebook and Google are tied in with SEO

So SEO Experts are seeing an increasing preference for social media within the Google Algorithm. The more shares, tweets and comments a blog post gets, the higher it ranks.

While we’ve seen Twitter give us a decent boost in ranking and a huge jump in how fast an article gets ranked, it still hasn’t seen the boost that this Facebook hack offers.

Here it is.

The next time you write a an article (which targets a niche keyword), make sure that you write it in a case study style.

Whenever you’re trying to make a point, be sure to use an example from a professional or business in your niche. Don’t choose anyone too huge, try to stick to the folks that are likely to appreciate your write-up about them.

Once you’ve written the article, post it on the Facebook page of everyone that you mentioned in the article.

A nice little personal (not generic) message about their inclusion in the article will be helpful. Give a brief sentence or two about why you mentioned them.

Now wait for it.

Facebook Fans Liking Your Post
When done properly, their fans will begin to flock to your Facebook post, congratulating and reinforcing your kind words.

Getting more likes on Facebook

The “likes” on your article will build, and the Facebook comments on your article will grow.

The more people you mention in your article (with a decent little complimentary case study), the more walls you can post it on without feeling like some kind of marketing jerk.

Discover valuable information on link building, keyword strategy, creating free reports and gaining website visibility when you download our FREE SEO Campaign Management Basics white paper.

Here’s a quick example.

You’re a food magazine and writing a blog post about coffee shops in Portland, Oregon. You write nice things about the coffee shops you mention.

Once the article is live, you post it on the walls of each coffee shop, telling them you picked them for your article about coffee shops in Portland because you are a huge fan of their Chai Latte.

Your job is done.

Fans of the coffee shop “like” your article because they like that you complimented a coffee shop that they also like.

They write comments like “I love their chai too!” or “Way to go ABC Coffee Shop!”.

The same method works the same for B2B.

A New Level for Facebook
For example, if I could have found any other B2B blogger out there who was implementing this Facebook SEO tip, I would have listed them right here and said what a smart company they were for doing it.

Then I’d go ahead and post it on their Facebook wall, telling them how smart I think they are and post the article that proves I really mean it.

Their fans would say, “I agree, you are smart!”

Boost the rank of your articles with this Facebook SEO hack

All these “likes” and comments on our post, which links to our article, give us a giant boost in SEO love.

GIANT. This is of course entirely dependent on the fact that you used a great niche keyword.

Go ahead and try it. Don’t forget to leave me a comment below, letting me know how it worked.

This Facebook SEO tip has been working well for me

I’ve been landing page one ranks on good keywords for my clients all week long and it’s been working so well that I couldn’t keep it all bundled up inside any longer…

Only this time, I’ll be a wee bit smarter than last time; so no, I’m not telling you my keywords!

How to Do SEO for E-Commerce Site Video

How to Do Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for an E-Commerce Site - with Rob Snell (7:02) video - by Dr. Ralph F. Wilson

In this video interview e-commerce expert Rob Snell explains how to prioritize the limited time you have to spend on search engine optimization (SEO) for an online store. The key, he says, is to identify your top converting keywords and pages and focus there.

Instead of just looking at only traffic, Snell says, it's important to identify the keywords and phrases that actually result in traffic AND conversions, that is, sales. Then identify which web pages are driving conversions from search engine traffic.

You can determine which of your product pages are in the Google index by typing into the Google search box "site:yourdomainname.com" and Google will list all of your pages in their index.

We found that of about 15,000 products, our top 200 web pages were driving 80-90% of the revenue. So the focus needs to be on the pages that are driving your revenue. Analytics for a Yahoo! show you the revenue for your entry pages. Google Analytics can be configured to track revenue as well.

Then on your homepage, use the top converting keywords to link to your top converting web pages.

Nine SEO Blogging Tips for Creating Blog Posts

Optimize Your Blog

Nine SEO Blogging Tips for Creating Blog Posts

These nine SEO blogging tips were originally published by Mequoda.com.

Blogging tips can help educate you in how to gain a higher ranking in search engine results which will help drive traffic to your blog.

One thing Google’s Panda update has taught us is that quality content is a clear focus on their indexing process.

Beyond quality content, we’ve seen specific techniques for placing content within web pages that has helped achieve the three primary concepts behind effective content marketing:
  1. content
  2. community
  3. commerce
Nine components for article optimization

These techniques show exactly where keywords should be placed and components that should be included within each article you publish.

The following list will help you create engaging, Google-friendly articles for your target audience.

SEO Blogging Component #1

SEO Blogging
Page Title – The page title needs to carry the main keyword phrases of the article.

Often times, writers make the page title and the headline one in the same, providing their headlines are keyword-optimized.

SEO Blogging Component #2

URL – Keywords should be placed in the URL for added optimization. If your headline is optimized, your URL and headline could be very similar.

SEO Blogging Component #3

Headline – The headline needs to include keyword phrases while remaining relevant to the overall topic.

Some journalists prefer to write catchy headlines and then have difficulty incorporating keyword phrases.

To supply both needs, journalists can publish an article with one title, and then change the title for SEO purposes after the initial publication.

Good Blog Headlines
Intriguing headlines can be created while still including keyword phrases.

How-to articles, numbered lists and fascination headlines can all do this with ease.

The title of this article is a good example of how a numbered list can include a keyword phrase.

In this case, “SEO Blogging” is the main keyword phrase being targeted.

Discover valuable information on link building, keyword strategy, creating free reports and gaining website visibility when you download our FREE SEO Campaign Management Basics white paper.

SEO Blogging Component #4

Subhead – The subhead should include keyword phrases while elaborating on the main content found in the article.

SEO Blogging Component #5

Body Copy – A keyword density around 3.0 should be the goal for articles you’d like to be ranked on. Body copy needs to be engaging, informative and contain multiple paragraphs.

Furthermore, the editorial standard of proper spelling and grammar is a must.

SEO Blogging Component #6

Category – Putting all articles into categories allows audience members to find aligned content easier while consistently receiving additional SEO fodder.

SEO Blogging Component #7

Free Report Link – All articles should point to an aligned free report.

This helps online publishers collect more data from visitors as the free report is given in exchange for a valid email address.

Create Your Blog Category
Having a link to an aligned free report in every post helps affords a better chance of converting casual visitors into registered members.

For instance, if you were reading a post about Internet marketing and were offered a longer, more in-depth report on the topic of interest for free, wouldn’t you act on that opportunity?

SEO Blogging Component #8

Share – To fulfill the criteria of community, adding a share option in every post allows audience members to easily distribute the content to others.

Facebook and Twitter are two of the most popular avenues for sharing content. Plus, a recent SEOmoz study revealed the prevalence Share features have on SEO rankings.

SEO Blogging Component #9

Comment – The Panda update has made user comments more valuable to publishers. Comments are great for community building and help pages rank better within search engines.

If you don’t experience a lot of comments on a normal basis, start conversations within your articles and specifically ask people to comment.

How To Choose a Domain Name For Internet Marketing | Video Training

Domain Name Search Comparison

Choosing A Domain Name

Domain names are the equivalent of book covers. If they don’t tell people what they’re about quickly, no one will want to read it.  For Internet marketing purposes that can be big trouble.

Before buying a domain name you should decide what you want to write about on your web site so that you can include one or two key words in the URL. It’s OK to be creative and have a catchy domain name as long as it is keyword rich.

This article will explain how to create a keyword rich domain name while maintaining your creativity.  There are also two video training options.

Researching Keywords for a Domain

To begin, you should perform a keyword search term for the topic you are interested in writing about (or selling). There are many keyword research tools such as Keyword Tracker and Google Keyword Search.  Both are free.

Video Tutorial How to Find Good Keywords

The more keywords you can fit into your domain name the better it will be for you to rank high on search engine results. For example, if you want your web site to be about kid’s paper crafts you’d want your domain name to be kids-paper-crafts.com or some variation of that search term.

The more specific you can be with your domain name the easier it will be for people to find your web site. To use the example of kid’s crafts, if someone were searching for kid’s crafts products or information they would type in: ‘kid’s crafts’ into the search engine.

Hyphenating a Web Site Name

Your web site kids-paper-crafts.com has a very good chance of appearing on the first page of Google for that search term.  There are arguments against including hyphens in a domain name but I’ve found that it actually helps your search engine rankings when a domain name is hyphenated.

And it makes the URL easier to read.

Look at the two URLs below and decide which one you’d rather click on:

kidspapercrafts.com

kids-paper-crafts.com

After you’ve decided on your domain name there are several web sites where you can register your domain name. I use GoDaddy.com as do a lot of other Internet marketers.

There is a video below on how to register a domain name.

Now you can start selecting your actual domain name. Most domain name registration companies will allow you to see whether or not your domain name is available by typing the name into a search box.

If the name you want isn’t available, it will return a list of recommended domain names. Take advantage of this tool by first entering your selected keyword.

If your keyword as a domain name is not available, think about the suggestions that are listed if the main keyword is still included in these suggestions and it ends with .com. Otherwise, you will have to be more creative.

For example, you can use 'filler' words, numbers or phrases within your domain name to still include your desired keyword phrase.

Fillers could be 'a,' 'an' or 'the'. Search engines tend to not look at these words, so you still have an opportunity to get indexed while having a domain name that is memorable and catchy and more to your liking.

You can also think about fillers at the end of a phrase, such as '101'.

What if you do these things and you still can't get a .com? Well, there are some instances where it is better to use a lesser used extension because the keyword is very popular.

Extensions that get noticed include:

.net
.biz
.org

You should also consider using country or state-based extensions if you don't mind international or local-based marketing. It's better to be number 1 in France's version of Google than to be number 200 or worse in America's version of Google.

How to Register a Domain Name Video Tutorial

In conclusion, choosing a domain name that will get the right buzz from both humans and search engines doesn't have to be hard.

How Important Is SEO For Internet Marketing Campaigns

SEO in Internet Marketing

Internet Marketing The Smart Way
If you are currently running an Internet marketing campaign or are about to launch a campaign, one concept you cannot neglect is search engine optimization, better known as SEO.

Sear engine optimization is the most talked about and written about buzz word in Internet marketing today.

Unfortunately, the great majority of bloggers and web site owners commonly do not know enough about how to prepare pages to make this strategy work for them.

I perform a lot of research and time after time I come across blogs that do not have their pages set-up correctly.

Even those who are acquainted with SEO may have a hard time executing their strategies to produce the desired outcome.

Online Advertising

Advertising is a key component of running any type of business. You must advertise to reach new customers and market your products or services.

You probably already understand how important it is to advertise but if you are running your business online you should be aware that there is a lot of free advertising in the form of optimal search engine rankings.

Search Engine Ranking

The most popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing rank websites according to complicated algorithms which are designed and constructed to determine which websites are relevant for appropriate search terms.

Accordingly, taking the time and putting in the effort to optimize your website for relevant search terms may result in you ranking high in search engines for these terms.

This is important because you want to rely on these rankings to bring in traffic to your web site.

Most people performing a search click on the first few links on the results page when they search for an exact term. They know what they want and they're in a rush to get it.

What this means for you is  when your website ranks high enough to appear on the first few lines or even on the first page of the search results, you will notice more web site traffic.

Converesly, if your web site doesn’t make it to the first page there is little chance that you will see traffic from visitors who use search engines.

How To Optimize Pages

Now that we talked about how search engine rankings are valuable, you might wonder how to accomplish these high rankings.

The quickest way to optimize your web site is to hire a professional SEO specialist to do the work.

However, if you're just starting out there are some things you can do to make your page rank high. I achieved first page ranking on Google with my article How To Start An Online Business Selling Used Cell Phones.

I will now talk about how I achieved that ranking. But before I do, I want you to perform a search on Google for the title of my article, or some variation. I rank fourth, right under Amazon.com if you insert the complete title.

If you search for a variation I'll still come up on the first page somewhere.

The way I got first page ranking is simple but hard. It's hard because it takes a lot of work, but simple because all we have to do is insert the following into our web page conent:

  • H1 and H2 tags
  • Pictures
  • Video
  • Key words in the text
  • News feeds
  • Wikipedia links

You've read this before. It's nothing new to you, but are you doing it?
Are you taking the time to really work on your pages or are you simply cutting and pasting text?

Here is an example of a page that is well optimized. Look at how she has links to other pages in the article. She has pictures and video as well.

Search Engine Terms

Is This Important?

Key Words

Keyword density refers to the number of times a particular keyword is used in the content of your web site.

The theory behind this concept is that web pages which are rich in keywords often are likely relevant to that keyword.

However, exaggerated use of that keyword may result in punishment to the web site if the search engine considers the keywords are not being used suitably.

META Tags

META tags are bits of HTML code which search engines use in assessing the content of a website.

Using keywords in these tags can be favorable in some search engines. Care should be taken to avoid placing irrelevant keywords in these tags as this may result in your website being penalized.

Inbound Links

Inbound links are also used by some search engines to rank websites. Inbound links refer to links on other websites which point to your website.

In evaluating the worth of these inbound links, search engines consider the rank of the website providing the link to your website.

This means you should ensure the website providing inbound links to your website are high ranking websites to receive the most benefit from these links.

Finally, the content on your website can do a great deal to bolster your search engine rankings.
