Email Marketing Campaign

eMail Marketing Campaign

Email Marketing Campaign in Action
This webinar on starting an email marketing campaign is presented by Hall Internet Marketing.

The best thing about starting an email marketing campaign is that people want the company emails they sign up for.

They look forward to them.

The host of the webinar is Amanda O'Brien who is a vice president at Hall.

Email is still the best way to communicate with your customers. It builds trust and adds value to your company by giving customers the information they want. But of course before you begin any email marketing campaign you will need a strategy.

email marketing statistics

Almost everyone that uses the Internet uses email daily. Email marketing allows you to stay in contact with your customers and prospects by sending messages about company products or free promotional material.

Listed below are some email statistics

  • 210 billion emails are sent every day
  • 2 million emails are sent every second
  • 1.3 billion email users
  • 516 million business email inboxes worldwide
  • Email is the number one thing people participate in

Other statistics show that 84% of people enjoyed receiving email from a company when they registered for it, even if they don’t read it right away.

email marketing campaigns and CANSPAM laws

Email Marketing Statistics by Industry
The CANSPAM laws were enacted in 2003 to stop the unsolicited emails filing people’s inboxes.

The word CANSPAM is an acronym for Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing.

Amanda goes into detail in the webinar below so I won’t write too much about it here except to say that she suggests to do:

  • Put your contact information in the footer of emails
  • Use a current email address you check often
  • Subject lines must be relevant
  • Offer immediate un-subscribe action
  • Build your list organically
  • Have consent to contact people on your list

Improve your email marketing campaign with effective email subject lines

In this five minute video interview, copywriting and conversion expert Jeff Sexton gives viewers tips on writing email subject lines that get people to click-through on your links.

"Picture your own inbox," says Sexton. "It's full!" Therefore, the #1 job of a subject line is to get recipient to open and read the e-mail message.

Sexton suggests to stay away from trying to "sell" with your subject line, or leading with your price or offer, unless they're absolutely compelling. Rather, use hooks such as:

Email Clients Used by Businesses
  • Encouraging their dreams
  • Allaying their fears
  • Justifying their failures
  • Robert Cialdini's "6 Weapons of Influence":
  • Reciprocation
  • Commitment
  • consistency
  • Social proof,
  • Liking
  • Authority
  • and Scarcity

Sexton suggests testing putting the recipient's name in the subject line, but cautions that it doesn't help these days and takes up needed room in the headline.

Some negatives: Don't be deceptive as people will see right through it.  He also suggests to try to stay away from using the following words that can trigger spam filters:

  • Free
  • New
  • Money

Moreover, the email message must deliver on the subject line's promise.

Testing subject lines can be done by split-testing part of your list, this is possible on email marketing systems such as:

You can also track Twitter 'tweet' click-throughs for different subect lines and compare click-throughs on various headline variations for PPC ads.

Jeff Sexton of JeffSextonWrites.com is a skilled copywriter who has consulted with several Fortune 50 companies, run hundreds of messaging tests, and provides copywriting services to companies large and small. This interview was recorded at Conversion Conference West in San Jose, CA, on May 4, 2010.

How to Build a Fan Base and Generate Sales | Video Training

How to Build a Fan Base

I can sum up this blog post with one sentence. People buy from people they like
Your Fans are Your Sales Leads
and people buy from those they trust.

That's the long and short of it. Now let's talk about how to get people to like you.

Last week I watched a really good training video and instantly became a fan of the presenter. He was my kind of guy.

I watched a few more of his videos and I signed up for his newsletter.

The next day I received an email from him that immediately went into a sales pitch for an affiliate product. I was hurt.

Why I didn't Fall For His Sales Pitch

I thought this guy was going to help me learn more about Internet marketing in the newsletter, not try to sell me something right away.

I unsubscribed and after I clicked on the button I was given the option to leave feedback, which I did.

Why I Became a Fan

The only reason I became a fan and signed up for his newsletter was because he taught me something I wanted to learn. I would have probably bought something from him eventually if he had kept teaching and helping me to grow as a marketer.
Sell to Fans Correctly

What can we learn from this?

If you want to create a fan base start teaching people what they want to learn.

If you can do that, they will come to you over and over again because you're giving them quality information.

You're helping them grow in the direction that they want to grow.

You won't have to market to them and you won't have to go looking for them. They'll come to you.

They will knock on your door at three in the morning. They'll smile when they see that you sent them an email.

Generating the Sale

After you have a good fan base and have people knocking on your door every day, then you can begin selling to those people. We all have to eat and we all have to pay rent, so we all have to make money.

There's nothing wrong with selling. It's how you sell that's important.
Generate Sales Slowly
I subscribe to another newsletter that is really informative and I learn something every time I read it.

She sells her products through the same newsletter but she isn't pushy. She also sells affiliate products and joint venture products.

Most of the time she'll write something like, "By the way, did you know I have this great eBook/video course for sale."

I have bought products from her in the past and I probably will buy from her again.

Video Training - Building a Fan Base

Now the video training part of this post. Watch the video to learn how this guy managed to get 800,000 people to read one of his blog posts.

This video will take your marketing to a new level if you follow his advice. When I finished watching it the only thing I could think was, "WOW".

Strategy - Today's Greatest Marketing Secret: Telling Stories in Eight Words or Less

In this article, you'll learn...
  • Why telling miniature stories is an effective marketing tool
  • How people best absorb and remember information and messaging
I'm about to tell you a new story about stories—one you need to know because of all the other new things, social and digital, going on in the world.

But before I do, let's make sure we're in sync on what has made "story" the stuff of life since the beginning of time.

If you're a marketer, a blogger, a politician, an entrepreneur, a teacher, a parent, a corporate executive, a lawyer, or a human being in today's hyper-messaged world, you don't want to miss this.

Ronald Reagan, the late actor-turned-president who was known by Republicans and Democrats alike as "The Great Communicator," didn't start speeches on "the multi-lateral imperative of deficit reduction" with facts and figures.

Instead, he'd tell you a story about a little girl in a yellow dress. Within a minute or two, when even the most cynical listeners were unconsciously disarmed and pulled in by the parable, Reagan would move over to the hard business of the day's talk.

He knew what a great sales trainer once told me: Spend two hours telling a prospect every fact about your product—and he'll forget 95% in 10 minutes. But tell him a story, and, 20 years later, he'll repeat it to you word for word.

How Come?

3 Things All Affiliate Marketers Need To Survive Online

Internet Marketing On The Rise

Affiliate Marketing

Every affiliate marketer is always looking for the successful market that gives the biggest paycheck.

Sometimes they think it is a magic formula that is readily available for them.

Actually, it is more complicated than that. It is just good marketing practices that have been proven over years of hard work and dedication.

There are tactics that have worked before with online marketing and is continuing to work in the online affiliate marketing world of today.

With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to able to increase your sales and survive in the affiliate marketing online.

What are these three tactics?

Use Unique Web Pages

1. Using unique web pages to promote each separate product you are marketing. Do not lump all of it together just to save some money
on web hosting. It is best to have a site focusing on each and every product and nothing more.

Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding on what the product can do to those who buys them.

Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product. Be sure that these customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.

You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page. Make the pages attractive compelling and include calls to act on the information.

Each headline should attract the readers to try and read more, even contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and will want to find out more.

Free Stuff Is Expected

2. Offer free reports to your readers. If possible position them at the very top side of your page so it they simply cannot be missed. Try to create
autoresponder messages that will be mailed to those who input their personal information into your sign up box.

According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect.

Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never return again.

By placing useful information into their inboxes at certain specified period, you will remind them of the product they thought they want later and will find out that the sale is closed.

Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.

Focus on important points like how your product can make life and things easier and more enjoyable.

Include compelling subject lines in the email.

As much as possible, avoid using the word "free" because there are still older spam filters that dumps those kind of contents into the junk before even anyone reading them first.

Convince those who signed up for your free reports that they will be missing
something big if they do not avail of your products and services.

Spread Marketing Efforts

Targeted Traffic

3. Get the kind of traffic that is targeted to your product. Just think, if the person who visited your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back.

Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications that are focusing on your target customers and what you have put up might just grab their interest.

Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day.

Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services.

If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you can made 10 sales based on the average statistic.

The tactics given above does not really sound very difficult to do, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.

Try to use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs. You can end maintaining a good source of income and surviving in this business that not all marketers can do.

Besides, think of the huge paychecks you will be receiving...

Happy Marketing!

How To Profit On Social Media Networks | Video Course

Social Media Profits

How To Profit On Social Media Networks | Video Course

Social media profiting is about generating leads to build your opt-in email list. Social media can be a very powerful tool to generate leads.

What I’m going to talk about in this article is using social media to increase your leads. And how to target the right people.  The videos below will show you how to be successful with social media.

The best thing about generating leads on a social media site is that you can qualify the lead. You don’t want someone in your network who is an auto mechanic if you’re selling women’s clothes.

Qualify your leads. Be very careful who you interact with. You don’t want to waste time on people who are not interested in what you’re offering. It may be fun but it’s not business.

Your goal should be to find people who are interested in what you’re interested in. If you’re selling shoes there are millions of people on social networks that are interested in shoes. Focus on those people.

Activity on Social Media Networks
Approach those people. Leave comments on their posts and look at who’s in their group so that you can approach them as well.

Let’s begin by asking and answering five critical questions.

What social media sites are you on?

This is important because you shouldn’t spread yourself too thin. Focus on 3-5 social media networking sites and spend 10 hours or more a week on those sites generating leads.

You can join as many sites as you want in order to get your name and website url out there but don’t spend too much time on those other sites. Focus your efforts on a few.

How active are you?

To be successful you must put in time. I mentioned earlier to spend 10 hours a week on your network marketing efforts but I didn’t talk about productivity.

You want to be productive when you’re on the sites. Read people’s posts and comment on them. Get your name in front of people. Build relationships with these people.

Let them talk about themselves and YOU talk about THEM. Don’t talk about yourself or your opportunity until they ask you.

What is on your profile?

Make sure to have content on your profile page. Spend time setting it up. Make it the first thing you do when you join a site. Your profile page is a mini website about you.

Make it so compelling that when people see it they ask you to join them as friends.

Social Media Success
If you’re allowed html on your profile page put an opt-in box there. Offer a free report. Give the visitor an incentive for giving you their email address.

Build your list faster with multiple opt-in boxes. Put one on every page you’re allowed.

People visit your profile page to learn something about you! Give it to them. Post links that interest you. Talk about yourself. Upload a picture of you with your dog or child. Tell a story.

How many people do you add each day?

Grow your network and your list daily.

Set a goal of how many people you’re going to add every day. If you add 10 to 30 people a day, you’re going to have a very good, money-making list of people who are interested in what you’re offering.

You did qualify your leads didn’t you?

What are you posting?

Learn about your prospects. Ask questions when you post. Build a relationship first before you try to sell anything. Contribute to the conversation by offering help and giving information freely.

Prospects will judge you by your posts. Bring value by having high quality content and being relevant. Did I say to give away a lot of stuff?

Perform research and read about your topic. Get pictures online and use them on your posts. Pictures attract the eyes.

People truly want to hear what you have to say. You have followers out there. Go get them.
