I've used it here and my blog traffic is doing well as I am ranking on Google's first page for several articles.
The reason this system is time consuming, is because it involves fine tuning and promoting your blog posts.
How to get blog traffic by fine tuning your next article
There are several things that we have to do to get a blog post to rank on Google's first page and I'll talk about some of them. Here we're going to examine fine tuning an article. Listed below are the top methods:- Using an H1 tag
- Using an H2 tag
- Using keyword in first and last paragraphs
- Adding pictures
- Adding videos
The screen shot below examines one of these elements of fine tuning a post to get blog traffic. The screen shot shows how I placed my keyword 'Blog Topics' on the first paragraph and how it got picked up by Google.

Increasing blog traffic by using H1 and H2 tags
This is one of the hard parts because the H1 and H2 tags have to be created manually.To create an H1 tag the text that contains your keyword should be highlighted in your HTML editor (click on the link to download a free HTML editor).
Then you can just click on the insert heading option and select the H1 tag.
The H1 tag tells the search engine exactly what the page is about and it will go throughout the page looking for more instances of the key word. Every article should have one H1 tag and several H2 tags.
I've been able to rank well just by doing this. You'd be surprised at how many people don't use the H2 tag at all.

Getting blog traffic by using pictures on your page
Google loves pictures. It enhances the web surfer's experience and it breaks up the text throughout the article.But that's not the only good part. You can name the images anything you want. One aspect of fine tuning an article is to name the pictures with your keywords.
The video below goes into detail about that so I won't write too much about here except to say that include a relevant picture of your topic on the article that you're fine tuning.

The good thing is that the work has to be done only once.
After that the traffic keeps coming in and as the traffic comes in to your blog they will see your other articles and they'll stay to read those as well.
How to get blog traffic with article submission
One of the things that Pual talked about was creating an article related to the blog post and then posting it on ezine articles.That's a good idea but I don't necessarily think it has to be ezine articles. I use HubPages to get backlinks and they work fine.
The good thing about HubPages is that you don't have to wait for anyone to accept your article. You can publish the article yourself. You can also fine tune the article on HubPages by including:
